Visit Finland - part 1: LAPLAND

"Contrasts are a key factor in the allure of Lapland. The hustle and bustle of towns and ski resorts is just minutes away from the peace and quiet of the wilderness.

WILD IN THE SNOW
Snow is guaranteed in Finnish Lapland, and it stays on the ground for up to six months a year. On clear winter nights, the Northern Lights dance across the sky in green waves, lighting up the silent snowy landscape.
Several ski resorts boast well-maintained slopes and snow parks, as well as extensive cross-country trails. Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, husky tours and reindeer sleigh rides are a taste of other activities available.

UNDER THE MIDNIGHT SUN
In the summer, the Midnight Sun provides warmth and energy for activities in the white night. Fly fishing, white-water rafting, golf and gold-panning are only a hint of everything on offer.
In September, autumn leaf colour sees Lappish nature burst into shades of yellow, orange and red, making it an ideal time for outdoor sports, such as hiking, trekking and mountain biking."

In Lapland you will find
203,000 reindeer
183,000 inhabitants
200 nights/year Northern Lights
6 national parks
1 Santa Claus (the one and only)
